Manage Facial Wrinkles - Say No to Botox and Surgical Facelifts

News Update: U.S. group wants Botox warning after 16 death reports.

This news has been around for a few days now, but it is still well worth taking the time to consider the message about the dangers of Botox injections given to remove facial wrinkles.

While good commercial and home made facial products go a long way to keeping our skin soft and youthful looking, the fact of the matter that no one really wants to acknowledge is that as our skin ages, it wrinkles. And wrinkles make us look old.

Of course, one of our main combat methods in the ‘War of the Wrinkles’ definitely takes the form of quality cosmetic products along with gentle care and maintenance of delicate facial skin.

The other form of combat is to ‘disguise’ the wrinkles. And there are certainly many products on the market that help us to do exactly that.

I rarely endorse a commercial product, but after finding out about ‘Life Cell Skin’ I decided it was worth passing this information along to my readers. You can click the image below and get a free report about Life Cell Skin. You can also spend some time reading their rather lengthy sales page and decide for yourself if this is a product than can help you in your quest for smoother, younger looking skin.

I personally think it can, otherwise I wouldn’t have posted a link here. The reason I think it can is that this product makes no bones about ‘removing’ wrinkles. Rather, it is quite up front about the ingredients and technology the company uses to ‘manage the appearance’ of wrinkles.

It’s no secret. The ’secret’ ingredient in Life Cell Skin is silicon dioxide in the form of billions of microscopic, three-dimensional crystals! Expensive. But highly effective. And certainly a lot less expensive that Botox or invasive, cosmetic surgery.

You need to read through the material yourself and make your own, informed decision if this is indeed a product that can help you manage facial wrinkles, look younger, and generally improve your appearance.

So pour yourself a nice cup of mint or herbal tea (of course) and away you go. Enjoy the information. Post questions on the forum. Watch some of the testimonial videos. (I particularly like the testimonial from 87 year old former Broadway Ballerina, Olga Suarez.) All the video testimonials are good, but Olga’s struck me as being the most remarkable. What a beautiful, elderly woman she is - an inspiration to all of us aging baby boomers and other vintage ‘gals’ who are starting to, well, get on a bit!

Arbutin Natural Skin Lightener

Arbutin is an extremely effective skin lightener and antioxidant that is made from the bearberry tree. Arbutin is a natural alternative to skin lighteners such as hydroquinone that have been associated with dangerous side effects.

Arbutin avoids side effects and odors. It reduces free radicals that damage and age the skin, contributing to brighter more radiant skin. Arbutin also has antibacterial properties.

Perfect Facials and a Good, Home-Made Facial Mask Recipe

Your facial skin cells regenerate about once a month, so a good facial at least once during this time frame is a good way to maintain a healthy, glowing complexion. A properly done facial takes at least an hour to complete. Your skin will thank you and reward you with a nice glow and soft touch.

There are basically two types of facials. One for oily skin, and one for dry skin. Determine your skin type then proceed accordingly.

The first step in giving yourself a facial is to gently was your face with a mild cleanser, then pat dry. Then fill the bathroom sink with hot water. Make a tent with a nice thick towel to cover your head, then leave over the sink and let the steam rise over your face for about ten miinutes.

Steaming helps open and clean the pores. A touch of fragrant essential oil in the water is a nice touch.

If you have severe acne you should not steam your face, since the heat could further aggravate angry oil glands.

For dry skin, the next step is to gently massage the skin in a soft circular motion for about 5-10 minutes.

Oily skin should be briefly massaged so as not to create more oil in the pores of the skin.

PERSIMMON HOME MADE FACIAL MASK RECIPE

For dry skin, a facial mask should contain egg yolk or banana.

For oily skin, make an astringent mask using egg whites or aloe vera gel.

One of the best ingredients for making a home made facial mask is a slightly over-ripe persimmon. The bright orange, pulpy persimmon fruit contain the same acid level as normal, healthy skin. They can be used to make a facial mask for both dry and oily skin.

For both oily and dry skin, mash the persimmon into a smooth consistency.

For oily skin, mix some cornstarch or the white of an egg into the mixture before spreading on your face.

For dry skin, mix an egg yolk and 1/2 tsp. of almond oil into the mixture.

Spread the mask over our face and neck. Massage well into the skin using your fingers. Avoid placing the mixture on or around the delicate skin around your eyes.

Leave the mask on until it dries completely.

Once dry, first rinse your face gently with warm water to remove the mask. Then apply a cold water rinse for about one minute. The cold water will help close your pores.

Pat your face dry with a soft towel.

When your face is nice and dry use your favorite moisturizer and gently massage the cream into your face.

Voilah! Your finished. Your face should be soft and glowing and you can go and enjoy a cool drink while you enjoy some well earned rest and relaxation.

Non Invasive Skin Tightening Therapy, Reduce Wrinkles

The Skin Tightener ST is an innovative new technology for non-invasive skin remodeling and skin tightening therapy. The Skin Tightener works by stimulating the growth of collagen to reduce wrinkles and the affect of aging on skin.

Collagen is the natural substance that gives human skin its soft, full, youthful appearance. The human body produces collagen from birth, producing less and less collagen until as we age until in the late 40’s collagen production essentially stops in the body.

The body also produces a natural enzyme known as collagenase, which breaks down collagen. This lack of collagen in later life leads to the start of lines, wrinkles, and generally tired, shagging looking skin that occurs during aging.

Skin Tightener ST Therapy acts to cause new collagen production, helping to create a younger, more vital appearance to the skin.

Skin Tightener ST is the only current treatment of its kind claiming to produce immediate positive skin results followed by progressive improvement for up to six months. Since spurring collagen growth involves creating new substance by the skin cells, collagen stimulation can take several months to show obvious results.

There is some immediate skin tightening and wrinkle reduction since Skin Tightener ST also reaches the deeper layers of the skin where it’s affects show rapid improvement.

Skin Tightening treatments have been shown by users to cause minimal discomfort, which are usually temporary. There is no reddening of the face, causing individuals reluctance to go out in public immediately after treatment. People using ST can resume their normal routine immediately after the skin treatment, and can even be combined with as other treatments.

Skin Tightener ST features a unique mixture of plant and marine ingredients, which is said to produce a tightening effect on the skin in around five minutes after application to the skin. The beneficial effects for the skin of ocean products like kelp have been known for ages.

Skin Tightener ST includes both Natural Ocean and herbal ingredients that enhance the synthesis of collagen, tightening and rejuvenating the skin and reducing wrinkles.

ST also contains Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide, an anti-inflammatory agent that helps heal aging damaged skin, and the ingredient Acetyl Hexapeptide-3, which reduces the skin sagging that contribute to wrinkles and lines on the face.

Massage Therapy for Stress Management

The Christmas Season is a very stressful time for many people. One effective, stress management technique is professional massage therapy. I am posting, with permission, the following article about massage thereapy by Dr. Richard Brown. Be sure to take some time to visit Dr. Brown’s website. (Links posted at end of article.)

Article by Rev. Dr. Richard Browne

Stress results in tense neck and shoulder muscles, leading to stiffness, headaches and more stress. Massage helps to relax the mind, body and spirit, providing time and space for self, and a feeling of peace, calm and well-being. It allows the nervous system to normalize itself, and may reduce many stress-related conditions, such as palpitations and raised blood pressure.

Prolonged periods of stress can subconsciously affect many systems of the body. Stress has been shown to aggravate, or even cause, such conditions as heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, memory loss and decreased immune dysfunction. Massage therapy is one of the best antidotes for stress. Massage boosts the body’s immune system, which can become compromised from extended periods of stress. Tension can build up in the muscles, causing a decrease in circulation and nutrient delivery to tissues.

With a therapeutic massage, stress can be significantly reduced. This, in turn, will increase energy and improve life outlook. When sustained stress is experienced daily, the brain responds in a manner known as “fight or flight”. This signals the sympathetic nervous system, which is controlled by the hypothalamus in the brain. Muscles tighten in our neck, shoulders and back, blood vessels constrict, eyes dilate, large amounts of energy are expended as the adrenal glands excrete hormones.

Massage breaks this tension by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s way of conserving and restoring energy). Stretching and kneading releases tight muscles and natural endorphins. This results in decreased pain, decreased heart rate and a sense of calm. Massage, when combined with traditional medical treatments, can reduce stress and promote healing in people with certain health conditions.

Massage and bodywork techniques are therapeutic in addressing chronic muscle and soft tissue strain patterns created by stress and aligns the muscles and soft tissues of the body by using a combination of specialized and advanced massage techniques. Some techniques may include: Functional muscle assessment (visual, kinesthetic, palpation), myofascial release, neuromuscular, deep tissue massage techniques, structural balancing (positioning and mobilizing), and external hot/cold applications.

Home Made Winter Moisturizer

Warmest Season’s Greetings to all my special readers and customers!

May each and every one of you find ways to peacefully and joyfully celebrate Christmas. If you do not celebrate Christmas, may you also experience happiness and enjoyment other religious or non-religious activities that take place at this special time of the year.

Before I post this great moisturizer recipe, I want to inform the spammers who are frequenting this site that the comments function has been turned off for all posts on the Cosmetics21.com website. Perhaps in the new year you might want to consider spending your time and energy in honest pursuits rather than trying to ride on the coat-tails, or destroy the efforts of others. Harsh words for this time of year, but alas, necessary ones. Spam hurts everyone, including the Spammer. So please stop.

Now, on with the show…

Winter is harsh on our delicate skin, especially the delicate skin on our hands and faces. Commercial moisturizers have their place, but I find the homemade ones so much better and more effective.

Here is a recipe for a nice ‘Christmassy’ lubricating lotion for your face AND your bath water:

Eggnog Lotion

2 egg yolks
1/2 cup of heavy cream or half and half coffee cream
1 tablespoon of rum. (Better make that two - one for you while you conjure up this amazing lotion, and one for the recipe!)
1/4 cup of light oil (canola, almond, walnut oil or any other light, aromatic oil will do)

Mix the egg yolks, cream and rum in a blender.
With the blender still running, dribble the oil into the mixture until it is well blended.

Pour the creamy mixture into a clean container and store in the fridge.

You can apply this mixture to your face or body, and you can also add one or two tablespoons of the Eggnog lotion into your bathwater.

And since it IS the Christmas season, you just might enjoy a glass of eggnog while you soak in this skin nourishing, relaxing bath.

Note: Egg Yolks are rich in natural lecithin. Lecithin in nature’s emulsifier, which works to hold together two ordinarily unmixable liquids such as oil and water, giving the resulting mixture a smooth, creamy texture.

Enjoy, and God bless!

Natural Beeswax Lip Balm

Now that the air is getting cooler and drier, especially indoors at this time of year in the Northern Climate, your lips have a tendency to become dry and cracked if you don’t use an ointment to keep them moisturized.

It is very easy to make an all natural balm to keep your lips moist and supple.

Simply mix together 2 tablespoons of melted beeswax (beeswax melts quickly if you grate it first, then heat it gently in the microwave on low for about 30 seconds - depending on the power of your microwave, of course) and 1/2 a tablespoon of coconut oil.

Mix well then pour into a small container (a little metal pillbox or cleaned base of a tea-light works well for me) and allow to cool before using.

This mixture works wonders on chapped lips and lasts a lot longer than most commercial preparations.
